Equipment and technology working group – G4

The working group Equipment and technology contains other subgroups that specialized in other themes.

Recycling subgroup – G4S5

The subgroup “Recycling” is part of the working group on Equipment and Technology. The aim of this group is to present and share information about the wide range of equipment available on the market for recycling, its applications and operating recommendations to get the most out of it.

Mr. Marcel Kerkhofs

KEESTRACK

Nowadays, it is undeniable that demolition companies can bring a lot of value to the recycling of C&D materials.

That is why demolition professionals are gradually expanding their interests and lines of business in this field.

This working group will discuss matters related to demolition and recycling equipment and will develop a technical document with a general scope.

High Reach subgroup – G4S4

The subgroup “High Reach” is part of the working group on Equipment. As the specialized association for the demolition industry, it is basic for EDA to have a reference document for high-reach demolition projects, the proper equipment and the best operational techniques.

Mr. Stefano Panseri

DESPE

In 2010, thanks to the collaboration of several experienced companies, it was published the EDA High Reach Guidelines in several languages.

However, as technology and business are constantly evolving, we believe it is time to review this technical document, update it and enrich it with 21st century developments.

The target audience of this document are general contractors and demolition contractors.

Couplers subgroup – G4S3

The subgroup “Couplers” is part of the working group on Equipment. It aims to give a general vision of the quick couplers, functionalities, types, opportunities & challenges, and regulatory framework.

Mr. Peter Lam

STEELWRIST

This guide would complete the trilogy on demolition and recycling equipment: carriers, attachments and couplers.

The target audience of this document are general contractors and demolition contractors.

It is part of the scope of this group to foster debate and common work about the basic guidelines related with standardization and recommendations for coupling the carrier and the attachment for demolition and recycling applications.

Attachments subgroup – G4S2

The working group “Equipment and technology” is meant to cover all the machinery, tools and technology used by the industry for demolition and/or recycling applications. It is coordinated by:

Mr. Gordon Hambach

EPIROC

To facilitate the work, the group “Equipment and technology” is distributed in several topics, including the subgroup “Attachments for demolition and recycling”.

The goal of the Attachments subgroup is to collect, prepare and share information related to attachments for demolition and recycling applications.

It is also part of the scope of this group to foster debate and common work about the basic guidelines related with standardization and recommendations for safe use of attachments.

The foundations of this subgroup are two think tanks held about the topic in Brussels, in 2018 and 2019. These two think tanks were debate sessions organized jointly by EDA and the Committee for European Construction Equipment, CECE.

Carriers subgroup – G4S1

The working group “Equipment and technology” is meant to cover all the machinery, tools and technology used by the industry for demolition and/or recycling applications. It is coordinated by:

Mr. Gilles Ronnet

CATERPILLAR

Mr. Philippe Boehrer

LIEBHERR

As part of this group, there are several subgroups, including this one about “Carriers for demolition and recycling”.

In the concept of carriers is included any type of self-propelled (combustion or electric) machinery used for demolition and/or recycling purposes. Generally, this machinery will work with some type of attachment, and could also have a quick coupler installed.

The goal of the Carriers subgroup is to collect, prepare and share information related to machinery used for demolition and recycling applications. The attachments, quick-couplers and processing units for recycling operations (crushing, screening, …) are not included in the scope of this group.

It is also part of the scope of this group to foster debate and common work about the basic guidelines related with standardization and recommendations for demolition applications.

The foundations of this subgroup are two think tanks held in Brussels, in 2018 and 2019. These two think tanks were debate sessions organized jointly by EDA and the Committee for European Construction Equipment, CECE.
