Additional equipment to be mounted on the recycling machines

While undertaking recycling tasks it may be necessary to fulfill several requirements, such as reducing dust or separating the resulting materials. For this purpose, equipment such as those described in the following tables are available on the market and can be mounted on the recycling machines and attachments described in the previous two sections.

Separate dust suppression system

It is possible to install high-pressure water pumps on machines used in recycling, to reduce the dust created by impacting, pulverizing, crushing or screening material.  Due to the high water pressure and onboard pump, the nozzles can be installed very close to the dust source.  In this way, it is possible to use less water and avoid the material getting wet.  It is necessary to use high water pressure to make the water mist droplets small enough to adhere well to dust particles.

Dust suppression systems can be installed on attachments as in mobile and stationary crushers, screens, and conveyors.

The water source can be a tank on top of or next to the machine, or the hose can be connected to the local water supply.

Sometimes these dust suppression systems are not sufficient and you can add a separate dust suppression system. The importance of dust suppression is growing due to environmental laws. Especially advised when the on-site recycling is in city areas.

(On-board) wind sifting

Wind shifting m13eans exposing the screened material to an airflow that collects the light-weight particles to separate them from the heavy share.

There are stand-alone wind sifters and on-board wind sifters integrated into mobile machines. They are all based on the same principle which is the airflow separates the light from the heavier fraction.

This modern preparation technology has proven its worth in waste management and is indispensable in all recycling applications, where building material needs to be separated from lightweight contaminants.

Typically, wind sifting machines are installed after a pre-shredding, crushing and screening and ferrous metal removal step to separate the aggregates from contaminants like plastic, wood, and paper.
