Discover RILEM’s ROC&TOK webinar on raw materials sourcing
The European Demolition Association encourages all industry professionals to register for the upcoming ROC&TOK webinar, hosted by RILEM, the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems, and Structures, on November 6, 2025, at 3 PM Paris Time. The session, which is free to attend, will take place online via Zoom.
This insightful one-hour webinar, titled “Raw materials sourcing and the built environment: the impact beyond CO2,” will be presented by Dr. Luca Valentini of the University of Padua, Italy, with Prof. Prannoy Suraneni from the University of Miami, United States, moderating. The focus will be on how raw materials sourcing in the construction sector extends beyond CO2 emissions and contributes to resource depletion, landform modification, and adverse effects on local communities.
The discussion will highlight circular economy strategies, the importance of responsible sourcing policies, and ways to integrate sustainability into construction practices. These are topics directly relevant to the demolition industry, as they intersect with sustainable material recovery and responsible recycling practices.
