G4 – Equipment and technology
The working group ‘Equipment and Technology’ is meant to cover all the machinery, tools and technology used by the industry for demolition and/or recycling applications. This group is divided into several subgroups for specific topics.
Carriers subgroup – G4S1
Its goal is to collect, prepare and share information related to machinery used for demolition and recycling applications. The attachments, quick-couplers and processing units for recycling operations (crushing, screening, …) are not included in the scope of this group.
The origin of this subgroup is the Think Tanks held in Brussels, in 2018 and 2019. These two debate sessions were organized jointly by EDA and the Committee for European Construction Equipment, CECE.
It started in 2020 and was coordinated by:
Mr. Gilles Ronnet | Mr Philippe Boehrer |
This working group has coordinated and participated in the following activities:
- Guide about carriers for demolition and recycling
- Illustrations of the guide about carriers for demolition and recycling
- Webinar on guides about attachment and carriers for demolition and recycling
Attachments subgroup – G4S2
The goal of the Attachments subgroup is to collect, prepare and share information related to attachments for demolition and recycling applications. It is also part of the scope of this group to foster debate and common work about the basic guidelines related to standardization and recommendations for the safe use of attachments.
The origin of this subgroup is the Think Tanks held in Brussels, in 2018 and 2019. These two debate sessions were organized jointly by EDA and the Committee for European Construction Equipment, CECE.
In 2020 started this subgroup, coordinated by:
Mr Gordon Hambach |
This working group has coordinated and participated in the following activities:
- Guide about attachments for demolition and recycling
- Illustrations of the guide about attachments for demolition and recycling
- Webinar on guides about attachment and carriers for demolition and recycling
Couplers subgroup – G4S3
This subgroup wants to give an overview of the quick couplers, functionalities, types, opportunities & challenges, and regulatory framework.
It was launched in 2021 and one of its main deliverables was to develop a guide to complete the trilogy on demolition and recycling equipment: carriers, attachments and couplers.
It was coordinated by:
Mr Peter Lam |
This working group has coordinated and participated in the following activities:
High Reach subgroup – G4S4
As the specialized association for the demolition industry, it is basic for EDA to have a reference document for high-reach demolition projects, the proper equipment and the best operational techniques.
In 2010, thanks to the collaboration of several experienced companies, it was published the EDA High Reach Guidelines in several languages.
However, as technology and business are constantly evolving, this subgroup was reactivated in 2022 to review, update and enrich the guidelines with 21st-century developments.
It was coordinated by:
Mr Stefano Panseri |
This working group has coordinated and participated in the following activities:
Recycling subgroup – G4S5
This group aims to present and share information about the wide range of equipment available on the market for recycling, its applications and operating recommendations to get the most out of it.
Nowadays, it is undeniable that demolition companies can bring a lot of value to the recycling of C&D materials. That is why demolition professionals are gradually expanding their interests and lines of business in this field.
It started in 2022 and was coordinated by:
Mr Marcel Kerkhofs |
This working group has coordinated the guide on Recycling equipment. It will soon be available in the EDA Library
