From 10 to 12 June, the European Demolition Association Convention will bring together leading experts for two days of technical discussions, international networking, and knowledge sharing focused on the future of demolition, decommissioning, and circular construction practices.
June 10: dynamic workshops
The programme will begin on Wednesday, June 10, at 15:00h with a series of specialised simultaneous workshops addressing some of the sector’s most relevant challenges and innovations. Topics will include circular economy principles applied to nuclear decommissioning projects, the management and follow-up of insulation materials produced using Freons and CFCs, and good practices in explosive demolition. Delegates will also receive an update on the upcoming European standard EN 17998 for demolition machinery.
At 16:30, EDA members will participate in the General Assembly, followed by the Welcome Cocktail at 19:30, where attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and establish new professional relationships in a business casual setting.
June 11: conferences from around the world
The conference programme will continue on Thursday, June 11, starting at 08:30. Presentations will include case studies on the demolition of the Coursington, Allen, and Draffen Towers in the United Kingdom, updates from the United States demolition sector, and the success of the Dutch Circular Verification Scheme. Additional sessions will focus on demolition challenges in Ireland, French construction and demolition waste management systems, and environmental considerations such as vibration, dust, and noise control.
The afternoon programme will highlight digital technologies in nuclear decommissioning projects, the environmental transformation of industrial sites, offshore platform dismantling analysis, and much more. The convention promises to offer valuable technical insights while strengthening collaboration across the international demolition community.
