From 10 to 11 June, the European Demolition Association Convention will bring together leading experts, contractors, engineers, and industry representatives for two days of technical discussions, international networking, and knowledge sharing focused on the future of demolition, decommissioning, and circular construction practices.
The programme will begin on Wednesday, 10 June, at 15:00 with a series of specialised workshops addressing some of the sector’s most relevant challenges and innovations. Topics will include circular economy principles applied to nuclear decommissioning projects, the management and follow-up of insulation materials produced using Freons and CFCs, and good practices in explosive demolition. Delegates will also receive an update on the upcoming European standard EN 17998 for demolition machinery, an important step forward for the industry.
At 16:30, EDA members will participate in the General Assembly, followed by the Welcome Cocktail at 19:30, where attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and establish new professional relationships in a business casual setting.
The conference programme will continue on Thursday, 11 June, starting at 08:30 with reception and accreditation. Throughout the day, four conference sessions will cover a wide range of international projects and technical developments.
Presentations will include case studies on the demolition of the Coursington, Allen, and Draffen Towers in the United Kingdom, updates from the United States demolition sector, and the success of the Dutch Circular Verification Scheme. Additional sessions will focus on demolition challenges in Ireland, French construction and demolition waste management systems, and environmental considerations such as vibration, dust, and noise control.
The afternoon programme will highlight digital technologies in nuclear decommissioning projects, the environmental transformation of industrial sites, offshore platform dismantling analysis, and an in-depth NASA case study. The convention promises to offer valuable technical insights while strengthening collaboration across the international demolition community.
