KEMROC redefines fibre optic trenching in Italy

KEMROC is revolutionizing urban fibre optic trenching in Pordenone, Italy, with its innovative KDS diamond saw series. Mounted on a CAT 306 excavator, the KEMROC KDS 30 enabled precise, low-noise, and efficient horizontal cuts through a challenging mix of asphalt, concrete, rock, and backfill over a 15-meter trench.

Designed specifically for compact excavators, the KDS range offers versatile solutions for cutting materials such as wood, concrete, steel, stone, and reinforced plastics. The KDS 20 model is ideal for 2-4 ton excavators, making it perfect for tight, confined spaces and specialized job sites. A standout feature in this project was the new 800 mm diameter diamond blade, capable of cutting trenches 300 mm deep at a remarkable rate of 18–20 linear meters per hour. The blade’s durability was exceptional, with an estimated lifespan of 1.5 km and minimal wear throughout the project.

The KDS 30 provides a cleaner, quieter, and more cost-effective alternative to traditional trenching equipment like cable trenchers and asphalt milling machines. Its low vibration and water dust suppression system make it well-suited for sensitive urban environments, minimizing disruption to surrounding areas.

Contractors praised the KEMROC KDS for its improved productivity, lower maintenance, and versatility. It has become the go-to solution for pipeline construction, stone cutting, and trench excavation, particularly in noise-sensitive urban settings.

With smart design and cutting-edge technology, KEMROC is setting a new standard for microtrenching and excavator attachments worldwide.
