Under this topic, the 18º European Forum on Eco-Innovation was held on May 20th and 21st, 2015, in Barcelona, Spain.

The European Commission organized 18º edition of this forum where the role of environmental labelling, management and information schemes were the main topics in a discussion towards a new proposal on Circular Economy.

Launched in 2006, the bi-annual European Forum on Eco-innovation brings together experts from the worlds of business, finance, technology development, academia and civil society, as well as other relevant stakeholders actively involved in ecoinnovation and resources efficiency.

The 18º European Forum on Eco-Innovation had different conference’s sessions with presentations about topics of common interest, table discussions and 20 case stories with the aim of exploring the reasons for developing schemes and to hear about their results and market impacts.

Furthermore, during the event, the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) Awards were handed out to EMAS-registered organisations that are striving to continuously improve to reduce the environmental impact of their operations.

The next edition of this event, focus on materials and products for a sustainable future, will be held on October 27th and 28th, 2015, in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
