CDWaste-ManageVET, launched in October 2019, is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the EU that counts PEDMEDE (Panhellenic Association of Engineers Contractors of Public Works and EDA member) as one of his partners, along with European entities.
The project addresses Construction and Demolition Waste Management skills needs, in the framework of the Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, supporting the Strategic Partnerships for vocational education and training.
The construction sector is the largest producer of waste in Europe (and France): Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) represent the largest volume of waste generated in the EU.
The European Protocol for the Treatment of CDW was set up to enable Member States to progress in the management of CDW as resources to be reused and recycled in a circular economy approach (2020 target: 70% CDW recovered: situation in France in 2020: nearly half recovered).
Other additional objectives are:
- To enhance opportunities for integration into labor market and create the conditions for developing human capital capacity and career opportunities, through integrating free accessible VET.
- To strengthen the participation of representatives of education and training providers, as well as construction sector stakeholders exchange information and good practices in order to draw recommendations on the evolution of such skills and jobs.
- To empower cooperation between educational institutions and business, as a result of combining theoretical & practical training.
