Contacts make Contracts

It seems like the world of Saw Cutters, Drillers, and of course Demolishers will be converging on Las Vegas in January, 2017.

First is the World of Concrete (17-20 January) quickly followed by the National Demolition Association (NDA) Annual Convention – “Demolition 2017” will be held from 28th to 31st January at The Mirage, Las Vegas.

As President of the EDA, I am looking forward to attending the NDA Convention, which is always a popular event in the Demolition Calendar.

I strongly believe that such conferences are THE opportunity to network with fellow Professionals to talk about all things Demolition.

My Father used to say “Contacts Make Contracts!” and this is certainly true – but I find it incredibly interesting and informative to talk about projects and listen to alternative approaches and techniques… after all – you are always learning in Demolition.

If you are unable to visit Las Vegas in January, we have the DDR Expo and Conference in Brussels (June 14th – 16th ) hosted by the EDA.

We already have some great exhibitors lined up – so come and join us in Brussels.

When I talk to Demolition Colleagues across Europe, and across the Atlantic, it is incredible to note how often we share the same issues… Hazardous Materials, The Classification and Treatment of Construction and Demolition Waste, Demolition Specific Training for our Operatives and uncertain markets are universal concerns for the Demolition Industry.

By sharing these issues together at conferences and events like Demolition 2017 and DDR Expo, we can gain knowledge from each others experiences, and learn how to overcome the challenges our industry faces.

So here’s looking forward to 2017, and with Best Wishes from all at the EDA for the Festive Season.
