Mr. Crookston is a Chartered Building Surveyor with responsibility for the delivery of Wheatley Group’s demolition programme.
He has worked for 36 years within the construction industry, with the last 13 years focusing on demolition, covering both high-rise and low-rise residential properties.
Glasgow Housing Association, GHA, part of Wheatley Group, has delivered an ambitious demolition programme over the last 13 years as part of the regeneration of Scotland’s biggest city.
Using both conventional and innovative, ultra-reach techniques, GHA has safely demolished more than 90 high-rise blocks, including the famous Red Road flats.
Mr. Kenny Crookston will explain how GHA, and its demolition contractors, have overcome the challenges of bringing down some of the tallest residential buildings in Europe.
And he will talk about how, alongside the demolition programme, GHA has transformed its communities with a £1.3billion investment project which has seen 70,000 homes modernised and a major new-build programme resulting in thousands of new homes so far.
