EDA highlights the continuous growth of members and the educational work plan in its 2020 General Assembly

The EDA General Assembly 2020 has been held by videoconference on September 16 with the participation of many members who connected to the meeting to review the general activity report of the association for the period 2019-2020.

The previous General Assembly meeting was held in Tokyo on May 20th, 2019, as part of the EDA Study Tour in Japan.

The evolution of membership to the association shows a continuous growth in recent years. In fact, two new national associations have joint EDA: UDCA from the Russian Federation, and PEDMEDE from Greece.

Currently, there are 14 national associations, 35 international contractors, 37 suppliers and 3 engineering and consulting companies.

As part of this year’s review, meeting attendees highlighted the increase in contacts with the Nation Associations to know how the situation in each country was, how the COVID-19 was affecting the construction industry and its evolution during 2020.

Working groups and educational sessions

Given the current situation in which travel and face-to-face events are very limited, EDA work plan focuses on online activities, such as working groups, webinars and educational sessions.

The upcoming EDA working groups are attachments, carriers and circular economy.

From EDI it will start a working group about decontamination of hazardous substances in construction.
