EDA joins the CEN/TC Committee on Circular Economy

The European Demolition Association has been collaborating with the European Committee for Standardisation, CEN, for a couple of years. The association participated as a Liaison organisation in the Technical Committee CEN-TC 151, on ‘Construction equipment and building material machines’.
However, the interest of the EDA and its members to continue working towards a circular economy model has recently led it to join CEN/TC 350 on ‘Sustainability of construction works’, with a special focus on Subcommittee 1 on Circular Economy in the Construction Sector.
With this decision, the European Demolition Association wants to maintain closer communication and actively participate in the development of European standards. At the same time, to share the experience and knowledge of companies involved in demolition, decontamination and recycling activities, which are essential to close the loop in the new circular construction sector.
