“Guide About Urban Regeneration and Demolition Footprint”, launched at the Annual Convention

17/06/2025

The EDA Convention, held in Venice from June 12 to 14, 2025, was the perfect occasion to present one of the most recent EDA publications: the Guide about Urban Regeneration and Demolition Footprint. This guide provides an essential look at the relationship between demolition, urban regeneration, and sustainability.

In recent years, demolition has often been seen as a negative force, associated with destruction and environmental harm. However, this guide challenges that perception by highlighting the role demolition plays in urban renewal and the reduction of carbon emissions. We explore how demolition can be an integral part of creating more sustainable, resilient cities.

The guide is a valuable resource for professionals in the demolition industry, urban planners, and policymakers, offering practical insights into how we can all contribute to reducing our carbon footprint during regeneration projects. It is available online for EDA members, but hard copies can also be requested through this form.
