16/05/2015
Members of the European Demolition Association, EDA, participated in a panel session in the frame of this event, which was held in Manchester, UK, on 5-6 May, 2015.
These members ran a panel on behalf of EDA that focused on the role of demolition contractors in the multi-billion euro nuclear sector.
The topics of the panel session were to understand the challenges involved for demolition contractors when operating in such a highly regulated industry, as well as to discover the need for meticulous planning at every stage of the project: following a full decommissioning strategy highlighting specific methodology, environmental impact reports and feasibility studies.
DELETE, DESPE and Squibb Group were amongst the panellists in this very successful session.
The 6th Annual Nuclear Decommissioning Conference brought together over 250 senior level executives from the nuclear decommissioning and waste management sectors.
With attendees from every UK Site Licence Company, tasked with the safe decommissioning of the UK’s nuclear clean-up effort, as well as a large European delegation this was a very successful conference.
