- The 5th edition of our annual publication gathers the most recent developments in the demolition industry.
For a fifth year in a row, the European Demolition Association, EDA, is delighted to present to you its annual publication: the EDA Yearbook 2023.
This document, which has been in preparation for the last few months, gathers the association’s news, activities and projects that took place in 2023. On the other hand, and as it is customary, the National Associations from all around Europe shred their thoughts, experience and knowledge acquired throughout the year.
Several guest associations also made an appearance. Industry professionals from the USA, New Zeland, Canada and India shared with us the highlights of the year in their areas, as well forecasts about what’s to come.
Those contents are of great value to all industry professionals, as they allow us to approach the demolition sector from numerous points of view.
Nuclear decommissioning: a highlight of our Yearbook
In this year’s edition, several companies and institutions have gathered to share their knowledge on a very special topic: nuclear decommissioning. Both the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA, and Office for Nuclear Regulation, ONR, have collaborated with articles about the past and future of this issue; as well as the safety considerations regarding demolition with explosives.
One of the most important contents of the publication is the dialogue about the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. Mr Stefano Panseri, EDA President, interviewed Mr Simon Carroll, Senior Advisor at VATTENFALl.
Throughout the dialogue, they discussed several topics, such as the state of nuclear decommissioning, its relationship with the demolition industry and the potential future they may hold together. The full video is available on the EDA website and YouTube channel, and the contents of the dialogue appear in the written form in our publication.
The EDA Yearbook 2023, as well as its previous editions, is available in hard copy and for free online consultation.
