EDA’s 2021 unwrap: how this year has gone
1/12/2021

- EDA participated on numerous activities, like the World Demolition Summit.
2021 is coming to an end. It has been a year full of uncertainty due to COVID-19 pandemic, but the European Demolition Association, EDA, has succeeded in bringing numerous projects to fruition. Here is a short but intense EDA tour through the year.
EDA continued its compromise with education and training. It has organized numerous webinars, informative sessions to spread information on the latest news of the guild, specialization, and experiences of different professionals. From the circularity of flat glass to the potential of construction and demolition waste, everybody interested on the sector could join these webinars.
Moreover, the different working groups continued meeting and achieving their goals: encouraging the exchange of good practices, the development of reference documentation, the creation of dissemination or training materials and the promotion of the guild in general.
However, it has been a tough year regarding events. City borders were opening and closing, the COVID-19 pandemic continued generating waves of contagions, and the context was difficult. As a result, EDA made a difficult decision and cancelled its in person Annual Convention of 2021. However, it participated in other important events as the World Demolition Summit 21 on October in the city of Chicago.
Tangible goals were also given to members, such as the Guides about Attachments and Carriers, its Yearbook of 2021, and the European Demolition Industry Report 2021, which provided a visual overview of Europe’s demolition industry from data gathered through the year.
This year closes with new members, experiences and knowledge gathered. EDA will continue working towards a better promotion, relationships between organizations and results on the guild, as it has been doing for the past 43 years.
