The Eurogroup creates the Pan-European Guarantee to support the companies in crisis

After the Eurogroup videoconference of 15 May 2020, the main parameters of the EIB’s (European Investment Bank) were defined in order to reach an agreement to create a guarantee fund for businesses.

The Eurogroup have already agreed on some key features of the recovery Pan-European Guarantee:

  • It must be temporary, targeted, and commensurate with the extraordinary costs of this crisis
  • It must help spread costs over time and ensure solidarity with the most affected member states

The Eurogroup complemented these agreed lines with a strategic discussion on the features, design, size and priorities for the recovery.
