
The European Demolition Association, EDA, participated in this meeting, organized by the European Commission on Thursday 16th of November 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.
As part of its work on the Resource efficiency in the construction sector, the European Commission is currently conducting a study on the development and implementation of initiatives fostering investment and innovation in construction and demolition waste recycling infrastructure.
Mainly focus on Circular Economy, this workshop served to discuss exemplary business cases that have been identified in the study and that can be used to increase investment in Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling infrastructure, especially in regions still lagging behind with respect to the 70% target of the EU Waste Framework Directive.

The introduction of the meeting was made by Elisabeth Hamdouch, Deputy Head of Unit European Commission DG GROW Unit C.1.
After her, there weres different sessions and testimonials until an interactive breakout sessions, where EDA participated in the number one “Niche business model”.
Finally, there was time for a panel discussion, where EDA was really active defending the interests of the demolition industry in Europe and its members.
