Leisure activities: Potsdam Trip
4/05/2012
Experience history from the past to the present and enjoy the unique landscape and atmosphere.
Potsdam is the capital city of the German federal state of Brandenburg, situated on the River Havel, 24 km southwest of Berlin city centre.
Potsdam was the residence of the Prussian kings and German Kaisers, until 1918.
Around the city there are a series of interconnected lakes and unique cultural landmarks, in particular the parks and palaces of Sanssouci, the largest World Heritage Site in Germany.
Visit the most famous castle in the park Sanssouci and hear the story of how he was buried there.
Another
highlight in Potsdam is the New Garden with the newly restored and reopened Belvedere palace located in the former KGB quarter.
We will have a nice lunch at the historical site of Cecilienhof Palace, where the Potsdam Agreement was signed by Truman, Stalin and Atlee in 1945, the major post-World War II conference held between the victorious Allies.
