In the frame of the European Demolition & Decontamination Annual Convention 2018, held in June 7-9 in Vienna (AUSTRIA), EDA named Francisco Cobo as new president of the association.
The European Demolition Association, EDA, has a new president: Mr. Francisco Cobo.
Mr. Francisco Cobo, best known as “PacoCobo”, was named new president by his predecessor, Mr. William Sinclair, who has been in charge during the last two years.
The new president of EDA owns a degree in Journalism and in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Since the beginning of its professional activity at the end of 70’s, he has been always involved in the building and real estate sectors.
From 1990 to 2015, Mr. Cobo worked in the legal and international relationships departments of the company DETECSA, former member of EDA, and currently, he manages the same activities in DELTAPUNT, company member of the association too.
Mr. Cobo has been highly involved in the associative world, both in Spain and internationally.
He was the first Secretary General of the Spanish Demolition Association, AEDED, member of EDA, from its foundation in 1981 until 1990. Mr. Cobo is present in EDA since many years, as he has participated in the Annual Convention (spring and autumn in the past), continuously, since the second edition, held in Hamburg (Germany) more than 35 years ago.
In addition, he was one of the participants in the symposium EDA-Rilem, held in Tokyo (Japan), in 1988.
Since 2007, Mr. Cobo is the treasurer of EDA, and from 2013 to 2016, he was the president of the International Committee of the association.
Whereupon, very few people are more prepared than him to take the role of president at the moment, after decades of presence in EDA and his huge experience in the European demolition industry.
The first action of Mr. Francisco Cobo as president was to announce Mr. William Sinclair
as a member of the Club of Honor.
