Novelties of ARDEN EQUIPMENT at BAUMA

The company launched the ARDEN JET, a world premiere of a factory fitted water spraying device on a demolition shear to reduce dust that arises during demolition.

ARDEN EQUIPMENT has already confirmed its participation as sponsor in the EDA 2016 Annual Convention, to be held from 9th to 11th of June in Glasgow, Scotland (UK).

For the first time an attachment manufacturer dares to integrate from the beginning of design stages a high pressure water spraying dust suppression function on a demolition shear.

As the waterjet system is factory designed, the result is a fully integrated and optimized spraying device with no comparison with what has been achieved so far.

The sprayed area to be demolished is outstandingly accurate because of the 4 nozzles that are directly fitted on the body of the shear.

They therefore follow the movements (translation and rotation) of the tool. Spraying nozzles can be fitted in different angles or changed by the customer allowing various nozzles diameters and shapes of the spraying pattern to best match job site requirements.

High pressurized water turns into a mist that is propelled several meters away creating a large area of fog to better capture airborne particles.

Moreover the hoses are fully connected inside the body which renders them totally invisible and protected from external destructive elements.

All of this is possible using a specific turning joint which allows hydraulic oil and water management at the same time enabling the full use of the rotation head to operate the shear without worrying about hoses position. The operator can be fully focused on the task at hand.

One of the main advantages of the Arden shear is its inverted cylinders in the jaws. This positioning protects effectively the cylinder rods against external solid hazards and is even more relevant with the water spraying option as rods are also protected against corrosion.

The benefits of the ARDEN JET are not only technical but also environmental. Indeed, dust particles generated on demolition job sites are detrimental to workers’ and local residents’ health.

Mud that is created while watering heavily the areas to be demolished is also having a negative impact on the environment.

With the ARDEN JET there will be no more mud as water is atomized through the nozzles with pressure going up to 170 bar making it a very fine mist which is very effective against air borne dust, even micro particles.

Another benefit are the economic factors. The use of high pressure water means that less water is necessary and the whole process will be more effective. It is believed that cost saving on water usage is significant meaning that the option can be amortized after few months of operations and this does not take into account the cost saving on the rotation head and neither the cost reduction on fuel on the machines.

More savings will also be generated on the jobsite as the suppression of dust will mean that other machines around will not be clogged by dust and will therefore run longer an need less maintenance.

The ARDEN JET is now available on ARDEN EQUIPMENT multiprocessors CU022 and CU031 as well as on dedicated shears CD22 and CD31, for excavators ranging respectively from 17 to 27t and 26 to 37t. It will be install on the entire range in the coming months.

Both models can be seen at the BAUMA fair on Arden Equipment stand in the outside area FM615/2.

Other major news for ARDEN EQUIPMENT which follows its CU007 booster introduction at Intermat in 2015, the Concrete Pulverizer BBH014 is now also available with a Booster creating a multiplying effect up to 700 bar.

Cycle times are improved and energy savings on the excavator is visible as the BBH014 Booster at equal power generates 24% more cutting force than its brother in standard version.

The other specific benefit of the BB014 is that it still has its inverted cylinder despite the fitting of the booster allowing it to preserve its optimum protection of the cylinder rod.

This is compulsory in the harsh environment of the demolition industry. The rebar cutter which was previously an option is now available as a factory standard. A closed kit, to get finer concrete debris, is available as an option.

The BBH014 is now fitted with the new changeable 500 HB molded teethes. Wear parts are covered with 600HB reinforcement steel, guaranteeing a longer life time.

The BBH 014 is to be mounted on excavators ranging from 13 to 22t.
