Where os the IDE today?

This is question the president of the Institute of Demolition Engineers, IDE, Mr. Duncan Rudall, will answer during the conference program.

Mr. Duncan Rudall fell into the Demolition industry purely by accident in 1991 as a labourer, progressing up to Topman, plant operator and Supervisor.

He put himself through night classes at college to pursue his interests in and enhance his safety knowledge and also became a CITB/CPCS instructor – one of the first high reach instructors in the country.

Mr. Rudall went on to become a Safety Manager, then Regional Manager and then on to become a Director at The Wring Group.

During this time he won the Alf Brown Operative of the Year Award and shortly after joined the IDE.

He was co-opted onto the IDE Committee working closely with many of his peers for the past few years.  He is fortunate now to run his own Demolition Consultancy, Training and Assessment Company, DCS Training Ltd, working closely with many Demolition companies, the National Federation of Demolition Contractors, NFDC, association member of EDA, and NDTG.

Although achieving a lot in a short time and feeling that there is still much more to do Duncan feels that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve the things he has done without the help of many people in the industry, something for which he is very grateful.
