5.500 visitors from Europe, America and Asia, 1.500 more than in 2015, were present at the trade fair, which was held from 21st to 23rd of September, 2016.
“The balance of this 10th edition of RemTech Expo – Mr. Filippo Parisini, Ferrara Fiere Congressi’s President, which organizes the event in partnership with Emilia-Romagna Region, underlines with satisfaction – it’s the best ever and strengthens the centrality of Ferrara in the environmental segment, permanently at the top of the international agenda”.
And international is the standing taken by the appointment of Ferrara Fiere, as shown by the RemTech Europe Conference, launched with the European Commission and the JRC (Joint Research Center), which plans to bring together every year the European administrations and companies, in order to stimulate the sharing of knowledge and experiences on remediation, and facilitate trading relationships.
Parisini’s considerations echo those of Ms. Silvia Paparella, project manager of RemTech Expo: “We registered an increase of the technological and innovative component, with drones, robots, softwares, plants, highly specialized and cutting edge instruments.
Furthermore, the interaction between producers and users of technologies, services and tools has been very intense, with operative working tables and new projects”.
“I would emphasize – Paparella added – the big support of the Civil Protection: despite its deep involvement in the zones recently affected by the earthquake, with which we made a live streaming video, it has been at the centre of a one-day seminar about the technologies for the study and the management of emergencies, and it exhibited some of its latest generation equipment.
We focused on earthquakes, landslides and floods with #italiasicura, that promoted a discussion about the 2015-2020 National Plan against hydrogeological instability and on the design addresses for risk mitigation”.
Assoporti and the Port Authorities gave a fundamental contribution on the themes of dredging and sediments, while Confindustria presented the Position Paper on remediation, to which RemTech provided its technical and scientific skills.
Among the key interlocutors of the event, the Ministry of the Environment, with the National Table on Coastal Erosion, and the Emilia-Romagna Region, single partner of the internationalization project, which brought to Ferrara Fiere several foreign delegations interested in creating new business with the participating companies, following workshops, taking part in B2B, site visits and the Chinese RemTech School.
It should also be noted that, on the occasion of the States General of remediation, the Extraordinary Commissioner for the reclamation and the requalification of the Area Vasta of Taranto, Vera Corbelli, introduced the collaboration plan with RemTech, which will be achieved through a full-scale laboratory for field trials of innovative technologies.
The balance of RemTech Expo 2016 ends with a look at 2017 edition (20-22 September), which will be characterized by two important new features: the scientific focuses on earthquakes and green chemistry.
