Which are the operator’s professional requirements?

The training required for an operator who is going to manage a demolition machine will vary depending on various factors, such as the type of carrier, the attachments used, the conditions
of the jobsite, etc.

However, generally, their training should include the following aspects:

  • Operational procedures to manage the carrier
  • Health and safety considerations regarding the use of the carrier
  • Identification of significant hazards and the control measures needed to negate or reduce them
  • Inspection and maintenance protocols
  • Storage and transport
  • Use of attachments: operational procedures to manage the attachments and assembly carrier-attachment

It is very important that all the operators having completed their training, receive refresher training from time to time, to ensure that they keep in mind all the relevant information. Additionally,
they will need to receive training if there are any changes in the working methodology or in the in carrier they use.
