The publication in November of the Study on technical requirements for the road approval of Non-Road Mobile Machinery brings good news for these machines in the European scenario.

The study, conducted by fkaTRL on behalf of the European Commission and presented during CECE’s November Technical Week, offers a crucial step for establishing a practicable framework for NRMM road approval. This means that the EU will adopt common rules and regulations, as well as unify the national ones that are established in this term.  A common set of rules rules and safety measures for harvesters and other nonroad mobile machinery (NRMM) will be adopted by the EU will adopt a common set of, unifying rules that were previously legislated for at the national level.

Up to now, non-road mobile machinery has not had an EU-wide type approval system, but the member states do establish their regulations. This means that there is no unified regulation, which causes the increase in costs to follow each state’s requirements.
