Other aspects (economic, social, and environmental) related to circular economy and construction

Circular economy holds the potential to change the production and consumption models through the introduction of new processes and disruptive business models.
Regarding the construction activities, such a radical transformation of the business practices and its economy as a whole would entail significant economic, environmental, and social impacts.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS:
The environmental impacts that the establishment of a circular economy in construction will imply are probably the most evident ones.
It will clearly lead to a big reduction of emissions, waste reduction, water-saving, raw materials saving, free-up land, and avoid or reduce soil contamination.
ECONOMIC IMPACTS:
Establishing a circular economy in construction will generate new types of jobs that did not exist before, mostly related to recycling and reusing tasks. To be carried out, more people, trained specifically for those tasks will be needed. For this reason, in the economic aspect, a circular economy in construction will help to create new jobs positions.
Moreover, also in relation to the requirement of carrying out new types of jobs, a circular economy in construction can lead to the creation of new business models and companies, increasing productivity and incentivizing the economy in the UE.
SOCIAL IMPACTS:
The social impacts that a circular economy in construction will probably imply, are very related to the economic ones. As, as said before, it will generate new jobs.
This will definitely have a big social impact as it can reduce unemployment and improve the situation of many families.
