Spain’s candidate announced for 2025 EDA Circular Economy Awards

EDA proudly announces the first candidate to participate in the European Circular Economy in Constructions Awards, which EDA organises to recognise and promote innovation among students.

Ms Rosnery Castillo will be the Spanish candidate for the 2025 Circular Economy Awards. She won the 2024 Academic Merti Awards, organized by AEDED, the Spanish association, for her outstanding project and she is invited to the eremony of the 2025 Circular Economy Awards, which will take place in Venice during EDA Annual Convention 2025.

Ms Castillo’s nomination, titled “Design and Characterization of Mortars with Recycled Aggregate from Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) and End-of-Life Tires (ELT),” stands out for its innovative approach to reusing construction materials, promoting circular economy principles and sustainability. Her work focuses on designing and characterizing mortars that incorporate recycled aggregates from Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) and End-of-Life Tires (ELT). By using these materials, her project aims to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable construction practices. This innovative approach enhances the quality of building materials while significantly decreasing waste.

About the Circular Economy Awards:

The EDA Circular Economy Awards recognise students who develop innovative projects in circular economy and sustainability within the construction and demolition sectors.
